Our Verdict
From the Playlist book:
If you’ve got an older iPod with a battery that’s seen better days, or even a newer iPod that’s simply been overworked, one of the best “accessories” you can buy is a new battery. Like Newer Technology, FastMac sells a range of batteries for everything from the very first iPods to the latest photo-capable versions. Installation of the new battery isn’t trivial, but the company provides clear instructions and the necessary tools for those brave enough to take the DIY route. If you’d rather leave such work to the professionals, Fastmac will perform the replacement for you for an additional $40. The best news? No matter which iPod you have, these replacement batteries will provide longer playback time than your iPod’s original battery.
