Our Verdict
Marware was one of the first manufacturers of iPod sports cases, and today has one of the largest lines of protective designed for active use. This basic neoprene sports case will cushion your iPod and help to protect it from bumps and scratches as you exercise. The clear plastic front has an opening to access your clickwheel, and rubberized sides help keep it grippy so it will not slip out of sweaty hands. Marware inserted plastic into the sides and back to help protect the iPod from impact. We’re not sure how much benefit this actually provides, but we’re glad to have it.
On ther exterior, there’s a removable belt clip that attaches to the back, which will also let you mount it to your car or on a bike. A bottom-side rubber stopper opens to give you access to the dock without removing your ipod from the case. The opening at the top gives access to both the headphone jack and remote port, but you’ll need to un-do the velcro closure to access the hold switch. We’ve been using another version of this case for well over a year, and our only complaint has been that the dock seal doesn’t like to stay shut. Overall, however, this is an excellent case at a great price point. –Mathew Honan
