This case for full-sized iPods will protect the housing from surface scratches and abrasions, but it leaves the screen exposed to the elements. The leather case has openings for the clickwheel, dock connection, and hold switch. A leather strap goes over the top through a metal buckle and snaps shut with a magnetized closure. There’s a belt-loop on the back side, and black stitching highlights the edges. Also included is a leather lanyard for carrying the case around your neck.
While it’s an attractive case, we don’t recommend it. The leather strap across the top covers the remote port, so you won’t be able to useany accessories with it. The case also leaves the screen exposed, which is the most likely area where your iPod will suffer damage. Worst of all–since the other cons are obvious from a glance before you make a purchase–the stitching is poorly done. We had hardly removed it from the (quite nice) bag it comes in when we noticed that the belt loop was coming undine. By slightly tugging on it, we were able to remove the loop almost entirely. This is a poorly made product, and we suggest you avoid it. –Mathew Honan
