Our Verdict
This aluminum case snaps shut from the bottom to protect your iPod from impacts and compression. A clear plastic screen lets you see the display, while an opening in the bottom lets you access the clickwheel while it’s closed. The top is open–a nice touch that allows you to attach any iPod accessories that use the remote port and headphone jack. A neoprene liner cushions the iPod, holding it snugly in place and helps to protect it from damage. The removable plastic belt clip is a nice touch, and we also liked the ridges on the side that give it a little more grip than other aluminum cases. The bottom side also has two plastic pieces that keep it from swinging open too wide and bending the hinge. However, we still prefer the side-opening cases.
While it is relatively sturdy, we were able to bend it with our hands by applying moderate pressure. Also, Playlist prefers that cases designed to protect against impact and compression to guard the clickwheel, this case leaves it open.–Mathew Honan
