Our Verdict
There are a number of “clear plastic” cases for the iPod nano, but Agent 18’s Shield 4 Nano is currently our favorite. Like other similar cases, the Shield has front and rear pieces that snap together to encase the entire nano — except for the Click Wheel, hold switch, and bottom edge — in rigid plastic. (Most of the case is actually translucent, with clear sections over the iPod’s screen, sides, and rear iPod logo.) However, what sets the Shield 4 Nano apart is that a small section at the bottom of the case snaps off to expose approximately 1/3″ of nano’s bottom. This allows you to use Apple’s dock and other dock-cradle products without having to take your iPod nano out of the case.–Dan Frakes
