Our Verdict
iStyles’ Silicone shuffle is, as you’d expect from the name, a silicone “skin” case for your iPod shuffle. The main case piece completely covers the body of your iPod while a second, smaller, piece covers the shuffle’s cap. The silicone is very thin and tightly form fitting — some force and time is needed to slide the case on. Like many other skin cases, a thinner membrane covers the shuffle’s rear Off/On/Shuffle switch. Unfortunately, in my testing it was significantly more difficult to move the switch than with other cases, while at the same time, this membrane was easily punctured by a fingernail. On the other hand, the indentation on the front of the case for your iPod’s controls lines up perfectly.
The Silicone shuffle is available in nine different colors. The most interesting? “Darkness,” which is actually opaque black.
Overall, iStyles’ Silicone shuffle is a basic silicone case that’s quite inexpensive; however, it’s inconvenient to use if you turn your iPod on and off regularly.–Derik DeLong
