The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is a re-imagined version of the classic 1990 adventure game that augments the original story with improved graphics, sounds, and a full voiceover. At $10, this game is sure to help aficionados with an Intel-powered Mac running OS X 10.5 or 10.6 relive all their favourite adventures starring Guybrush Threepwood, Elaine Marley and, of course, the hilariously evil ghost pirate LeChuck. Best of all, the product is available in a digital format through Aspyr’s
GameAgent Website, meaning that you get to download, install, and play it as soon as you place your order.
The four Star Wars titles are available as individual downloads at prices ranging from $20 to $30 each. Aspyr is also re-releasing them in packaged form at retail locations in two packs of two games each: the Star Wars: Jedi Knight Gold Pack ($30), which includes both Jedi games, and the Star Wars Mac Pack ($50), which includes Empire at War and Knights of the Old Republic.
As part of a promotion that the company is running for an unspecified amount of time, customers who buy a copy of Monkey Island through Game Agent along with one of the Star Wars games, will receive 20 percent off the total price.
Still shamefully absent, however, are OS X-compatible versions of classic Star Wars games X-Wing and TIE Fighter.
