If the term “fractal” is new to you and you feel the need to bone up on the subject, Tom has written a helpful article aptly titled “What are Fractals?” And if you’re simply interested in seeing the kind of gorgeous patterns math can make, visit the Frax showcase.

And for good measure, the Frax developers have given TechHive and Macworld readers exclusive high-resolution fractal files for their viewing and creative pleasure.
