Epson on Tuesday announced the availability of the latest addition to its WorkForce line of printers. The new WorkForce 520 is a $130 multifunction inkjet printer that the company claims is the fastest in its class.
Featuring built-in 802.11b/g/n wireless networking as well as 10/100 Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity, the WorkForce 520 is targeted at small businesses looking for an affordable all-in-one unit that can print, scan, copy and fax.
The WorkForce 520 uses Epson’s DuraBrite Ultra pigment inks in 5 individual ink cartridges—one each of cyan, magenta, and yellow and two black cartridges. It has a 1200 optical dpi flatbed scanner with a 30-page Automatic document feeder.
Epson claims that the WorkForce 520 can print up to 15 pages per minute black and 5.4 pages per minute color, using ISO standard print speed tests.
