Neoprene sleeve offers minimal protection, but nice additional features.
Another entry in the “repurposing a netbook case for the iPad” category is Skooba Design’s $20 Netbook/iPad Neo-Sleeve. This sleeve is made of thin, lightweight neoprene with a zippered closure on the narrow top of the case. The opening’s a little narrow for the iPad, but the neoprene stretches to accommodate the device. The case is also taller than the iPad, which leaves some empty space at the top, and you don’t get any sort of rigid panel for additional screen protection. On the other hand, there are a couple nice features you don’t get from basic sleeves: a small, zippered front pocket with room for the iPad’s charger and cable, and an included adjustable shoulder strap that attaches to a pair of D-rings on the back of the sleeve.
