Our Verdict
This puffy nylon case provides ample iPad protection along with a zippered accessory pocket and retractable handles.
Resembling nothing so much as a puffy winter jacket, the $35 Targus Crave Sleeve for iPad is made from water- and stain-resistant nylon and sized perfectly for the iPad. A zipper runs from the corner of one narrow edge to the opposite corner of the sleeve, giving you plenty of space to slip the iPad in and out. The inside is lined with a soft, microfiber material concealing a reasonable amount of padding (although no rigid panel for additional screen protection). There are a couple of nice features on the Crave Sleeve, including handles that, when not in use, can be stowed into deep, snap-secured side pockets—pockets that can hold other small objects, as well. There’s also a zippered front pocket for carrying cables, power adapters, or other accessories. While the Crave Sleeve lacks some the super-slim profile of some other cases, the puffy nature of the case means that it compresses easily should you want to stuff it in a larger bag.
