The 1337 offers high-density silicone protection for bumps and bruises along with molded grips on the back for extra control when gaming.
Incipio’s iPad 1337 Silicone Gaming Case is specifically designed for gaming on the iPad—thus the 1337 (“elite” in gaming leetspeak) moniker. The $35 case offers high-density silicone protection against bumps and bruises while the “grip” design provides extra control when gaming.
The 1337 easily slips onto the back of your iPad, leaving the screen, orientation-lock switch, dock-connector port, and headphone jack exposed. The volume and Sleep/Wake buttons are protected by the case, but can still be used by pressing tactile counterparts on the case that make it easy to manipulate the buttons underneath. The 1337 ships with a clear, protective screen film and a microfiber cleaning cloth.
The large, L-shaped, molded grips on the back of the 1337, one in each corner, really make the iPad easier to grip, especially when gaming. Any game that incorporates the iPad’s accelerometer—especially racing games—is a dream to play with the 1337. I was skeptical of a legitimate gaming cover, but Incipio has proven me wrong. While the silicone itself feels a bit greasy, the sturdy silicone grips in the back help with control and comfort when handling the iPad.
