If you don’t need much extra storage, and you don’t mind some rough design edges, Case Logic’s Netbook/iPad Attaché is an OK bag when you consider its rock-bottom price.
Case Logic’s Netbook/iPad Attaché is a messenger-style bag sporting a fancy name and an affordable price. If you don’t need much extra storage, it’s a decent option for taking your iPad on the go.
Although the bag’s main compartment is designed for the typical netbook, the iPad doesn’t swim around in it quite as badly as in, say, the STM Scout. The compartment can even accommodate the extra size of Apple’s iPad Case, but an iPad is still fairly snug on its own.
A large accessory pocket spans almost the entire width and height of the bag’s front, which is great if you want raw space for carrying other sizable items. Inside this pocket are four pouches: one for USB thumb drives, two for pens, and one for an iPhone or pocketable digital camera. I’d prefer a few more pockets, though, for credit cards, keys, and other trinkets.
I’m also not hip on Case Logic’s shoulder strap. The company’s images of the Attaché show a strap with a pad, but the review unit we received included only a nylon strap. Either way, Case Logic clearly skimped on the strap, as it’s rough and burn-inducing with even light use. If shipping units do include a padded strap, Case Logic will earn a couple more quality points.
If you really don’t need much room for extras, and you don’t mind some rough design edges, Case Logic’s Netbook/iPad Attaché is an OK bag when you consider its rock-bottom price.
