We all love a good deal, and what better place to find one than in a generously packaged Mac software bundle? The latest bundle of software is from MacFriendly, and features 12 software applications with a combined $415 value. Of course, since this is a bundle, you can expect to pay much less—85 percent less, MacFriendly claims. The bundle runs just $50, which is actually cheaper than several of the included software’s individual prices.
The priciest pieces of software in the bundle are
Blackop’s CamCamX, a Webcam video mixer that allows you to create live TV webcasts using just your Mac, iSight, and picture and movie files;
SummitSoft’s Easy Logo Design and Illustration, a logo design and graphic illustration program that includes more than 6,000 1,300 editable vector graphics and 2,000 500 logo templates; and
R10BatchMail, a program for sending bulk e-mail. Each of the three normally sells for $60.
Next on the list of best values is Jumsoft’s accounting and financial management app, Money3, which normally goes for $39, and 4Media’s iPad to Mac Transfer ($36), which lets you transfer video and audio files from your iPad to your Mac or iTunes library.
Additional bundled software includes Radio Gaga ($30), a slick Internet radio program with an automatically updated directory of more than 10,000 radio stations; Shimo ($18), a front-end for the Cicso VPN client; SmartBackup ($25), an alternative backup application for Mac OS X; Alarm Clock Pro ($20), alarm clock software for Mac OS X; Recover PDF Password ($40), software that recovers forgotten passwords for PDF documents; CallItADay ($14), a diary app; and Exif Everywhere ($15), a web browser plugin that displays EXIF metadata and other properties of JPEG and TIFF images.
You don’t have to be a mathemagician to see that if you use two or more of these applications, you’ll likely get your money’s worth and then some. However, if you’re on the fence about it, you have until August 6 to decide; that’s when the sale ends. Though if recent history has shown us anything, it’s that there will always be plenty more Mac software bundles from various vendors coming down the road.
