Our Verdict
The M-Edge Executive Jacket is one of the many leather-bound ($60 with real leather, $50 with the synthetic stuff) iPad folios out there. You secure the iPad in the case with four straps, which leaves all ports and buttons accessible. The inside cover features several slots in which to stick business cards, receipts, and other small, flat items. And you can slip your hand under the strap on the back side of the case, making the iPad a bit easier to hold.
The Executive Jacket’s biggest problem is its gigantic closing strap, which is just about as long as the case is wide. That strap allows you to close the case securely by sliding it all the way into its holster on the case’s front. But when the case is open, it just gets in the way, flailing and flapping until you tuck it under the case or try to slide it under the iPad. It’s a fatal flaw in an otherwise serviceable folio design.
