iHome has released iHome+Radio, an Internet radio app that works in conjunction with the company’s line of “App-Enhanced” iPhone and iPod speakers. The $2 app uses Internet radio site RadioTime’s program guide to deliver tens of thousands of local and international Internet and broadcast radio stations to your iPhone and iPod.
iHome+Radio features optimized graphics for the iPhone 4 Retina display and supports iOS 4 background audio and multitasking. If you have a RadioTime account, the app will sync your account’s presets, making for a seamless mobile transition.
The app works as a stand-alone Internet radio player, but can also be used in conjunction with iHome’s “App-Enhanced” speaker systems, like the iA5, allowing you to control the app through the speaker’s controls. iHome+Radio can also be synced with iHome’s free iHome+Sleep app to turn your favorite radio stations into bedtime and wakeup music options.
Right now, iHome+Radio only supports stations that that stream in MP3 and AAC formats, but the company plans to add more formats in future updates.
iHome+Radio runs on iOS 4.0 or later.
