Apple on Wednesday released a couple of minor software updates to support its new 27-inch LED Cinema Display on both Mac OS X and Windows. The Windows update also includes support for the Magic Trackpad input device.
The new 27-inch LED Cinema Display, which Apple announced on July 27, went on sale last week. Shipping times are listed as one-to-two weeks, but Apple wanted to make sure that Mac users are prepared with the LED Cinema Display Software Update 1.0. (Try saying that three times fast.) This 76MB update adds support for Apple’s new display to Mac OS X 10.6.4.
Apple also released a bundled software update for Windows users to support both its new display and the Magic Trackpad, which Apple released in July. Windows XP, Vista, and 7 are all supported between two separate updates, one for 32-bit versions (7MB), another for 64-bit versions (4MB).
