Ahhhh. There we go. Now, where was I? Fame is overrated. By which I mean the movie, of course. The real thing may be fickle, but oh god how I crave it. Then I could tell the entire world about my favorite iPad apps and help the Terminator pass legislation. Well. One out of two ain’t bad, I guess. Oprah names her favorite iPad apps (Ad Age)
The empress of daytime television, who earlier this year gave free iPads to the whole O magazine staff, has dished on her most used iPad apps. Number one is Scrabble, which she plays while she’s on the treadmill. “I can play Scrabble and listen to Bruce Springsteen all at once,” she told Ad Age. Ironically, the Boss is known to play air guitar to the Oprah “You get a car!” remix while he’s on the stationary bike.
iPad adoption rate fastest ever, passing DVD player (CNBC)
Hard as it may be to believe, the iPad is the fastest adopted tech gadget ever, beating both the iPhone and the DVD player. Clearly, Steve Jobs owes a big thank you high five to Oprah.
Steve Jobs joins Arnold Schwarzenegger at organ bill signing (Twitter)
Steve Jobs publicly backed the California governor on the bill earlier this year, speaking about his own experiences as an organ donor recipient. The governor has now signed the bill into law, though a few riders got added during the legislative process: for example, Schwarzenegger has added a clause which allows him sole authority to remove organs from the living with his cybernetic limbs.
Family, friends say farewell to Tony Curtis (MSNBC)
Legendary actor Tony Curtis, who died last week at the age of 85, was laid to rest on Monday along with his favorite posessesions: a Stetson hat, an Armani scarf, driving gloves, a copy of his favorite novel, and his iPhone. This officially makes him the classiest guy in the afterlife, a position previously held by novelist Tom Wolfe up until it turned out he wasn’t actually dead.
