2K Sports has brought the latest edition to its popular NBA gaming franchise, NBA 2K11, to OnLive’s online gaming platform.
While the NBA 2K series has already featured some of the biggest contemporary names in pro basketball, including Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant, NBA 2K11 takes its line up to a new level with the addition of Michael Jordan.
Along with the standard NBA gameplay the series is known for, NBA 2K11 features a Jordan Challenge mode, the Jordan-era Chicago Bulls team, and even a MJ: Creating a Legend mode in which gamers play as a rookie Michael Jordan and craft a new career for him.
OnLive is a cloud computing, gaming-on-demand platform in which games are synchronized, rendered, and stored on remote servers and delivered to the gamer over a broadband Internet connection. Since all graphics processing is handled by OnLive’s servers, users of the service can play graphically intensive games on computers that would not otherwise be able to handle them.
NBA 2K11 costs $6 for a 3 Day PlayPass, $9 for 5 Day PlayPass, and $30 for a Full PlayPass.
