Our Verdict
From the outside, Marware’s $55 Eco-Vue iPad case is a classy leather folio, with the nice added touch of a Moleskine-style elastic band to keep the case closed. Inside, it’s got a soft lining. To insert your iPad, you slide it into a carrier frame from the top. All the iPad’s ports and buttons are accessible without having to remove the iPad from the case.
The inside of the Eco-Vue’s rigid cover contains a flip-out stand that allows you to flip the cover around to the back and prop up the iPad at a good typing angle. There’s also an elastic “holding strap” you can slip your hand through in order to facilitate easy reading, but this strap seems just as awkward and non-functional as every other elastic holding strap I’ve seen on an iPad case.
The Eco-Vue is an attractive leather folio case with a solid front cover. It doesn’t offer as much functionality as some other folios that sport hinged covers, but if you prefer your folio to be a single unbroken expanse of leather, the Eco-Vue will satisfy.
