Bluetooth already helps us make hands-free phone calls, but now it can help us cook a perfect steak. iDevices’s iGrill is a Bluetooth-enabled thermometer that communicates with an app on your iOS device, keeping you updated on the temperature of your food, while freeing you from the confines of your kitchen when you cook.
The iGrill Thermometer can communicate with your iOS device via Bluetooth from up to 200 feet away, and features its own touch interface and projection display. It can track temperatures up to 400°F and has built-in alert settings, allowing it to be used as a stand-alone thermometer.
The free iGrill app connects with the iGrill Thermometer and updates you on the temperature of your food. It also has a cooking-time remaining feature, a recipe browsing and sharing function, kitchen timer, and instructional articles.
The iGrill Thermometer runs on four AA batteries and costs $100; for an another $20, you can add an additional probe to your iGrill, letting you monitor two separate dishes while they cook.
