The era of whipping out a microcasette recorder to dictate a memorandum or a reminder seemed to be a relic of the 1990s, living on only in old Norm MacDonald “note to self” jokes. But InstantNote+ intends to revive the practice among iPhone users.
The app, announced Wednesday by developer Aquilonis, lets you make voice recordings about important ideas or meetings—and offers scheduling capabilities so your iPhone plays the message back to you at a specified time and date.
InstantNote+ can also help business users manage the timing of their communications with the outside world, with features to schedule and even initiate—with the user’s consent—calls, texts, and e-mails. (The consent requirement means the phone won’t accidentally call an important client while a user is in the middle of other business.) Scheduling is done via a multicolored grid divided into 15-minute increments.
InstantNote+ costs $10, and is compatible with devices running iOS 4.0 or later.
