A busy Thursday for Apple means a special edition of the Macworld Podcast, as we discuss all the product news coming out of Cupertino this week. I’m joined by senior editors Christopher Breen and Roman Loyola to talk about the new MacBook Pros released Thursday and the Thunderbolt port that highlights the changes to Apple’s laptops.
We also talk about the new details Apple revealed about Mac OS X Lion, which will be available to consumers this summer. (A developer release of the new OS came out Thursday.) And we wrap up with a little speculation about next Wednesday’s Apple event.

The latest MacBook Pros feature Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and improved graphics. But the real highlight is a new connectivity standard dubbed Thunderbolt. You can find out all about this peripheral-connection technology in our guide to Thunderbolt.
In addition to MacBook Pro updates and the Lion developer release, Apple also released a new version of its FaceTime video-conferencing app to the Mac App Store. We discuss that briefly in the podcast.
As for next week’s Apple event, it’s almost certain to focus on a new iPad. We took the liberty of suggesting 11 features we’d like to see Apple incorporate into the new model.
