Moscow-based News360 has launched News360 for iPad, a news- and photo-aggregation application that displays stories from around the world.
The app, launched Monday, is similar to the developer’s earlier News360 app for iPhone, with some interesting variations. In portrait mode, the new app offers headlines from more than 1000 news sources—CNN, Fortune, and The New York Times topped the list this morning—that can be tweaked to reflect a user’s geographic location. Tilt the iPad into landscape mode, though, and the app offers a stream of high-resolution photos that, if tapped, reveal a related story.
Stories can be shared via Facebook or Twitter, or saved using Read It Later or Instapaper. Travelers signed up for the TripIt travel planning app can integrate the two services so that News360 displays headlines from forthcoming destinations.
News360 for iPad is free, and compatible with iPads running iOS 3.2 or later.
