Instagallery gains a landscape view, iPhone interface
By Joel Mathis, Macworld
week after its debut, the
Instagallery app—an iPad viewer for
Instagram photos—has been updated with new features and iPhone compatibility.
This update from developer
InfinitApps now allows iPad users to view Instagram photos in the tablet’s landscape orientation—a feature the company says is especially handy when running automated slideshows while displaying the iPad 2 using a
Smart Cover. In addition to its new status as a universal app for both iPhone and iPad, Instagallery’s update improves the way it handles photos marked “private.”
Instagallery continues to lets iPad users view their own Instagram photos and pictures taken by friends, as well as an assortment of the most popular pictures in Instagram’s social network. Photos are shown at full size, against a neutral matte background, and can be sorted according to photographer, location, or tag. Photos can be “liked” and you can directly contact their photographers to express comments and opinions.
Instagallery costs $2, and is compatible with devices running iOS 4.1 or later.
