Apparent unveiled the Doxie Go, a portable scanner that can wirelessly sync photos, documents, and receipts to your Mac, iOS device, or several online sharing services.
The Doxie Go scanner weighs less than a pound and measures 10.5 inches in length, making it easy to stow for business trips or other out-of-office uses. It can scan documents as small as business cards and as large as 8.5-by-12-inch letterhead-sized paper. Once scanned, the scanner can output images as JPEGs, PNGs, and text-searchable PDFs. The scanner itself runs on a lithium-ion battery that can go 100 scans before recharging.
Doxie Go will scan directly to an SD card or USB flash drive, as well as any Mac or PC. Users who want to scan documents directly to their iPhone or iPad’s photo roll, however, will have to by the $39 iPhone/iPad Sync Kit separately. The kit also makes it possible for users to directly transmit images to Dropbox, Flickr, Evernote or other cloud-based data-sharing services.
The Doxie Go scanner sells for $199; shipping begins Nov. 25. The iPhone/iPad Sync Kit will not ship until December.
