Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference is a great opportunity for iOS developers to meet one another and to pick the brains of the experts at Apple, but not everybody gets the chance to make it out to San Francisco. So, in order to bring in-depth, face-to-face technical information to even more developers, Apple has announced the iOS 5 Tech Talk World Tour.
Full-day events taking place in nine cities around the world, the tech talks feature Apple employees discussing high-end coding and design techniques for iOS developers. Topics include iCloud, user interface design, UIKit, Game Center, Newsstand, OpenGL ES, AirPlay, and much more—topped off with an hour of wine and cheese. And did we mention that the talks are totally free for all members of Apple’s iOS developer program?
Apple has held similar events in the past, in 2009 and 2008. This time around, the world tour hits Berlin, London, Rome, Beijing, Seoul, São Paolo, New York City, Seattle, and Austin. You’ll want to register quick, though, as space is limited and it tends to get snapped up fast—as of this writing, the January 13 New York City event had already filled up. For the complete list of dates and locations, as well as answers to other questions about the events, visit Apple’s site at the link above.
