Yes, love is in the air: A Brooklyn-based architectural magazine is dedicating all its love to Apple this month, Siri is learning how to say “love” in a new language, and the Mac Pro might finally see some love from Apple real soon. The remainders for Tuesday, February 14, 2012 would like to wish you all a lovely day.
CLOG:APPLE (Clog)
While I certainly admire the design of my Apple products and the company’s retail stores, I’m not sure I could write an entire magazine dedicated to their construction. Thankfully, architectural magazine Clog has no such trouble: The publication has dedicated its second issue to Apple’s architectural prowess in regards to products, retail, and headquarters—including the company’s in-progress “spaceship” campus. And as a special bonus, a love letter to the poor, misbegotten G4 Cube.
Siri leaks her own upcoming ability to speak Japanese (9to5 Mac)
Japanese language support is coming, if Siri herself is to be believed. When asked what languages she speaks, Apple’s virtual assistant now reports Japanese as part of her repertoire. I swear, if the Siri team doesn’t use this as an excuse to hide “Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto” in there somewhere, I will be very disappointed.
Apple Is Close to Finally Updating The Mac Pro (M.I.C Gadget)
Mac Pro: Not dead yet. So says M.I.C Gadget, which notes that Intel’s new eight-core Ivy Bridge processors and Nvidia’s “Kepler” platform have reportedly both been targeted by the Mac Pro team for inclusion in Apple’s big Mac. Supposedly, any overheating problems have been addressed—so this year’s Mac Pro will just be hot, rather than so hot it burns.
Apple fighting non-iPhone 4S devices running Siri? (iDownloadBlog)
Looks like Siri tried to break up with jailbroken iOS devices on Tuesday: Apple’s virtual assistant now requires a special token before connecting to a server. While you can’t win her back by buying her flowers, users on Twitter report that you may have luck purging a plist file. (If only all relationship issues could be resolved this easily.)
Apple, Suppliers Test Tablet With Smaller Screen (Wall Street Journal)
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, several Apple suppliers went on dates with the company’s mythical 8-inch tablet. Now, now, nameless suppliers. It’s not nice to kiss and tell. And commenting on a device’s specs! You should be ashamed.
