John Browett Officially Joins Apple as Retail Chief, Receives Stock Rights Worth $60 Million (MacRumors)
Apple’s new retail chief, John Browett, has begun work with the company for reals. According to an SEC filing, his start date is listed as April 20, at which point he also received 100,000 restricted stock units that vest periodically. I’m sure Browett is ready to make his mark on things—how do you feel about shag carpeting in every Apple Store?
Sprint confirms unlimited data plan for next iPhone (CNet)
Sprint CEO Dan Hesse told CNet that the carrier will likely stick with unlimited data for the next generation of iPhone. No surprise there, since it’s a key differentiator from the company’s rivals, none of which currently offer unlimited data. Except, of course, for the Justice League. (They have a great roaming plan.)
Cheap data just got cheaper at AT&T (TUAW)
Speaking of carrier data, AT&T has apparently improved its Pay as You Go offerings. Now $5 will get you 50MB, instead of 10MB; $15 will get you 200MB instead of 100MB; and $25 will get you 1GB instead of 500MB. But your firstborn will only still get you 2GB.
