Que Fontita ( free) from Chilean designer Felipe Millon is an ultra-cool comic book typeface, complete with some unusual onomatopoeic exclamations—boom, plop, blam, chud, and fwap—that will surely add super-power to your summer projects.
This OpenType font includes two separate alphabets, both in all-capitals, but one with and one without the onomatopoeia. Although the slightly less noisy lowercase version allows Que Fontita to be used legibly at display sizes, the tight kerning (needed to make the exclamations work well) requires Que Fontita be used at a fairly large size for a full effect.
Que Fontita includes a period, comma, and of course, an exclamation point. In addition, Millon has added all the accented letters you’d want in order to write your comic in Spanish … or for throwing your arch-nemesis off the scent.
Que Fontita is free for personal use; for commercial use, contact Millon.
