In addition to Apple’s impressive 1 billion download mark for iTunes U, the company’s also apparently doing a not too shabby job of selling iPads to educational institutions—so far, the number’s around 8 million. Kids today—when I was in school, the only tablets we had were made out of clay.

World’s Most Admired Companies (Fortune)

For the sixth consecutive time, Apple has once again been named the “World’s Most Admired Company” by Fortune. And it finally lives up to its high-school yearbook prediction of “most likely to be voted most admired company in the world six years in a row.”

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has some harsh words for Apple and Google, saying that the digital giants have “made all content, including music and newspapers, worthless, in order to make their billions.” Man, if there’s a way to make billions on worthless content, I really need to get on that.
