Apple’s Maps being updated often and significantly (The Loop)
Apple hasn’t given up on its Maps. The company’s been rolling out improvements to a number of cities, most notably in the form of its 3D flyover graphics. Which will be great the next time you need directions for your helicopter.
Apple CEO Cook ordered to testify in ebooks case (Reuters)
Tim Cook will take the stand in the ebooks antitrust trial levied by the Department of Justice. Apple is the only remaining defendant in the case, as the five major publishers all settled with the DoJ. Cook’s defense is rumored to be a mix of zone and man-to-man, which is sure to flummox prosecutors.
Alleged Google Now for iOS video leaks on YouTube, is promptly pulled (Engadget)
Google’s popular Google Now virtual assistant may be coming to iOS soon, if a leaked promotional video is any indication. The feature may appear as part of an update to the Google Search app, if this doesn’t just turn out to be a hoax that makes us all sad, sad pandas.
