Life for iOS-based foodies keeps getting better. The free Evernote Food app for iPhone and iPad keeps adding features that would make Julia Child jealous. This week’s update includes a number of upgrades—but probably most impressive is the new ability to browse restaurants and their Foursquare ratings, then make a reservation directly from the app. Also new: The ability to share recipes in Facebook or Twitter.
It’s part sci-fi and part Lassie: Fetch, a $5 iPad game, features the journey of a young boy to “rescue his dog Bear from a mysterious fire hydrant that snatched the canine in the night!” You’ll battle aliens and explore an animated “living world.”
A big social media week for the iPhone and iPad this week. Facebook now lets users update their cover photo directly from the mobile app; it also lets users more easily start group conversations. Pinterest has also updated with a new look for iPad, as well as the ability to more easily discover who else “pinned” your favorites.

The app includes more than 60 recipes, with step-by-step photo instructions for each dish to carefully guide you on the way.
If you’re the kind of person who loves both Star Wars and pinball, well, what do we need to say? The $2 Star Wars Pinball game for iPad and iPhone should be your nirvana. Use the force—just not so much that you tilt the machine, OK?
This free collaborative video app just got a little more collaborative—automatically combining the video you shoot with content produced by nearby friends, instead of making you go through a cumbersome process of starting a project with them. This week’s update includes user- and hashtag-based searches, as well as new integration with YouTube.
