This week’s roundup of iOS accessories includes new ways to stream your music wirelessly from your iPhone and iPad, as well as accessories for charging and for keeping your gear handy while driving.
The Butler is a nifty, hand-made, wall-mounted wood dock for all the stuff—including your iPhone—that fills your pockets. You can even hide charging cables inside, so your iPhone can get juice while docked. The Butler is made by San Diego craftsman Curtis Micklish, who doesn’t name prices on his site: You’ll have to email him to get him to make you one. (He needs two weeks of lead time before delivery.)
The $30 Gap Pal lets you tuck your iPhone in that tight space between your seat and the center column of the car, without risking losing the phone under the seat. (It also keeps other stuff from maddeningly falling in the crack.) The Gap Pal comes in either black or gray to best match your car’s interior.
The Kickstarter campaign for the MonkeyOh ends this week, and it looks to easily make its goal. And why not? The device lets you plug your iPhone into a wall socket for charging while keeping your charge/sync cable neat and organized. Kickstarter backers were able to get the first MonkeyOhs for $15 apiece, but that price seems likely to go up once regular production begins.
This company has introduced a new line of Bluetooth-enabled portable speakers, including the $50 iBT16 with a small single speaker; the $80 iBT24 stereo system; and the $100 iBT4 Boombox (pictured).
The $649 Scuderia FS1 Air is an AirPlay-enabled speaker system designed to stream high-quality audio wirelessly from your iOS device. It also includes a 30-pin dock, letting you charge your device even while playing tunes.
The foundIT ($50 for two) is a small transceiver that you can afix to your valuables. When said valuable goes missing, just fire up the foundIT app on your iPhone, and you should be able to find it easily—as long as it’s within 100 feet of you.
The $150 BoomBottle, also from Scosche, is a clever, rugged Bluetooth speaker that fits in the water-bottle cage on your bike for on-the-go music listening. The BoomBottle offers up to 10 hours of playback between charges.
The $14 USB Car Charger with Winding Cable Device for iPhone is, ahem, a USB car charger designed so that you can wind the iPhone’s charge/sync cable around the charger. The charger comes in white with either black, pink, yellow, or orange trim.
