A former Engineering Product Manager for MobileMe says that the disastrous launch of Apple’s online service in 2008 was actually Steve Jobs’s fault. Erin Caton argues that Jobs created an environment where people felt too afraid to voice their concerns, which led to the debacle that was MobileMe. Also, it didn’t help when they found Steve giddily pulling out ethernet cables in Apple’s server room.
Apple donating money, devices to earthquake victims in China (Ars Technica)
On its local China site, Apple has announced that it has donated 50 million yuan (roughly $8 million) to the victims of the recent earthquake in the Sichuan region.
