In this week’s edition of our iPhone-case roundup, you’ll find a case inspired by some memorable cartoon characters, a veritable Swiss Army knife for your handset, and a case that could save your life one day—plus, of course, our usual selection of protection for all tastes.

Fans of Pixar’s original Toy Story movie will love this company’s Alien Phone Case (iPhone 5; $46), which features the likeness of the curious three-eyed aliens that call Pizza Planet their home.
The case is made from soft rubber to keep your iPhone safe, and it features a convenient (if slightly disturbing) camera port that can be accessed by twisting one of the alien’s eyes out.

The Kanam5 (iPhone 5; $45) is handcrafted in Texas from a single piece of full-grain leather. The case wraps around your handset, protecting it from all sides while keeping it readily accessible for making calls, accessing your calendar, or playing a game or two.
The Kanam5 comes in tan, brown, or red.

The P.S. I Made This Collection (iPhone 4, 4S, and 5; $40) features dozens of cases designed by DYI expert Erica Domeseck using the company’s easy-to-use customization software. Each case is made from tough materials that keep your iPhone safe while providing ready access to all ports, cameras, and buttons.
The collection includes all sorts of different patterns and colours, from the whimsical to the fashionable.

The Chilewich Form (iPhone 5; $40) brings together one of Griffin’s most popular cases with the work of designer Chris Chilewich and provides two layers of protection that keep your handset safe from bumps and scratches.
The case is made from tough, impact-resistant polycarbonate with a layer of Chilewich’s trademark woven vinyl, and it’s available in black, blue, pink, or a multicolored pattern.

The Commuter Series 3D (iPhone 5; $45) adds a bit of artistic relief to the company’s tough cases with a series of three-dimensional designs ranging from the outline of a human skull to a series of floral motifs.
The Commuter 3D comes in green, pink, or blue.

Phone case meets Swiss Army knife in the TaskOne (iPhone 4, 4S, and 5; $90), which adds twenty-two convenient accessories such as knives, screwdrivers, can openers, and even a ruler to your handset.
The TaskOne comes in black, metallic grey, or red.

The company well-known for its line of checkered sneakers has launched a series of iPhone cases (iPhone 5; $20) inspired by the look and design of Vans footwear.
The line offers a variety of styles, colors, and designs, and it even includes some models that glow in the dark.

The Metallo (iPhone 5; $101) features an all-metal construction based on a special machining process that takes a full sixty minutes to complete, but it allows the company to fit its cases to the iPhone with extreme precision. The Metallo comes with a special docking system that can be used to attach an external battery when you need to go on an extended trip, and conveniently folds away when you don’t need need the extra juice.
Available in black, white, orange, or red, the case also comes with a complimentary screen protector, allen wrench, and metal guitar pick.

The Whistle (iPhone 5; $30) features sturdy construction and a special contour for a superior grip. Its most defining characteristic, however, is the fact that it incorporates a whistle that you can use to attract attention or call for help.
The case is available in white, red, or black.
