Our Verdict
The Jas Pro is a basic MacBook Pro stand that looks nice. It also folds nicely and can do double duty and an iPad stand.
Cooler Master is known for its PC-cooling devices, but the company also makes laptop stands designed especially for the MacBook Pro. I’ve been using two of Cooler Master’s stands, the $70 Jas Pro and the $60 L-Stand.
Jas Pro
Made of aluminum, the Jas Pro matches the aesthetics of Apple’s MacBook Pro and feels solid. The stand has rubber strips so the metal of the MacBook Pro doesn’t rub against the metal of the stand.

The Jas Pro is pretty basic and offers only height adjustability. I was able to adjust the stand so that the top of my 15-inch MacBook Pro’s screen lined up with the top of my 27-inch display. If you need to turn the laptop to the right or left, you turn the whole stand—rubber feet keep the stand from slipping. The Jas Pro folds into a compact package that makes it easy to put in a laptop bag.
While Cooler Master advertises the Jas Pro as a MacBook Pro stand, it works nicely as an iPad stand as well, especially if you’re using an external iPad keyboard.
My only complaint about the Jas Pro has to do with the rubber lining on the stand’s front cradle. The adhesive used to stick the rubber to the aluminum doesn’t seem strong enough, and on our test unit, the rubber covering the edge of the cradle started to peel off.
L-Stand
The aluminum L-Stand is a MacBook Pro stand for users who attach an external display while the laptop is closed. It holds the laptop up on its edge to free up space on your desk. The L-Stand is well constructed and the edges of the stand have a chrome-like finish, which is a nice touch.

Like the Jas Pro, the L-Stand is lined with rubber to protect your laptop from metal-on-metal contact. The bottom of the base also has rubber to keep it from slipping. The L-Stand can hold all sizes of the MacBook Pro.
The one issue I had while testing the L-Stand is that if you need to open the laptop for any reason, you need to pull the laptop through the stand, and if your cables aren’t long enough, you’ll have to disconnect them first.
Overall, Cooler Master’s Jas Pro and L-Stand are nice compliments to the MacBook Pro. They‘re simple stands that look good, and sometimes that’s all you need.
