Thomas Penfield Jackson, Outspoken Judge, Dies at 76 (New York Times)
Jackson is perhaps best known as the man who oversaw the antitrust case against Microsoft in the 1990s; his recommendation that the company be split in two was later overturned in appeal. And thank heavens for that, because the only thing worse than one Microsoft is two Microsofts.

Wireless Emergency Alerts Coming to iPhone 5, 4S (AT&T)
A carrier update for AT&T subscribers will bring emergency AMBER alerts, weather alerts, and presidential alerts to the iPhone 5 and 4S. I’m going to assume that the presidential alerts are just his Twitter feed.
