My cats are a lot of things: Fluffy, stubborn, unnecessarily vocal after midnight —but they’re not very classy. I can’t tell you how many times they’ve refused to wear a tie or a monocle (26), or why they have such an aversion to pearl necklaces and martinis (no cash?). However, now I can just touch up their photos in post-production and make them at least appear to be proper gentlemen because Snapr has brought us the Tuxedo Kittie app.
A photography app, Tuxedo Kittie will superimpose “stickers” onto photos of your cat; there are some 40-odd accessory stickers available in the app including a variety of hats, sunglasses, pipes, necklaces, collars, moustaches, and cocktails. The stickers can be enlarged, or shrunk, and rotated to fit the image. So, if you’ve ever wondered what Fluffy would look like with a cigarette holder and a glass of whiskey, well hey, today is a good day for you.
There are also 10 photo filters available within the app, with clever names like Catsby, Glamour Puss, and Milk. Your classy cat captures can be shared via Foursquare, Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter and your photos are saved to a tab called “My Kitties.” You can also search for others’ nattily attired felines in the “Kitties” tab, as well as follow favorites, via a familiar newsfeed-style interface. Tuxedo Kittie is free, but only currently available for Android and iOS—Windows Phone users will just have to find another way to earn their Crazy Cat Lady/Man cred.
