This week’s roundup of new iOS-related gear offers new ways to power up your iPhone, and even new ways to power up multiple iOS devices at the same time. Power to the people, uh-huh!
The name of the $12 Anker USB 24W Dual Port Car Charger gives you all the relevant information: Just plug it into your car’s accessory outlet, and you can charge up to two USB-enabled mobile devices at the same time. Apple-device cables are not provided; you’ll have to use the Lightning or 30-pin USB cables that came with your gear.
The $99 iHome Pro Swivel Notebook is a binder-style keyboard case. The swiveling keyboard is detachable, allowing you to use your iPad either as a laptop or a tablet, and is held in place with high-quality magnets.
The $99 Justand v2 turns your iPad or iPad mini into a document scanner, positioning the tablet above a book or document in order to capture a clean, detailed image of the page using the iPad’s camera. For an extra $40, you can add an “electronic module” that includes a USB port to power the iPad, as well as a flexible light to better illuminate the book or document.
The $120 iPad Point of Sale Stand is just what it sounds like: a way to secure your tablet in your place of business, to use it as a cash register and conduct other critical business functions on it. It can be mounted to a countertop, making it difficult for thieves to abscond with your iPad while you’re not looking. The device is also available for the iPad mini.
The Elite Battery Case is now available for the iPhone 5 and 5s. It can fully charge in two hours, and after that it offers up to two days of “heavy usage” for your iPhone. The ultra-thin package adds little bulk.
The $299 Singing Machine Home hits stores later this month. It does double duty as both as a wireless Bluetooth speaker to play tunes from your iPhone or iPad, and as a karaoke machine to create an evening of singing fun in your living room. It even records and plays back performances, with an option for sharing on your Facebook page or other social media networks.
The $219 Dash7 is billed by its maker as “the world’s lightest, slimmest, high-fidelity Bluetooth speaker.” It weighs just 7.1 ounces and features bass-boosting technologies, but can still run for 12 hours on a single charge. It comes in three colors: red, white, or black.
The $110 Zoomable Long Range Telephoto Lens is billed as “probably” the first long-range lens for iPhone 5 and 5s. The telescope itself is made of high-quality aluminum and glass; it comes with a cleaning cloth and a matte-black case that allows easy attachment to your iPhone.
