If there’s one thing that will warm Mac users in these brisk winter months, it’s fever—Macworld Expo fever. With the annual Mac trade show kicking off next week in San Francisco, ours is running at a barely manageable 101 degrees. To help vent some of that built-up heat and anticipation, we devote Podcast No. 62 to all things Expo.
After the usual opening niceties I offer a few survival tips for those out-of-towners coming to Expo for the first time. I then launch into my Disney Dream, an audio plea to Steve Jobs, asking—as nice as pie—if he might grant my daughter (and her loving parents) a single request: Before leaving the Expo keynote stage on January 9, please announce plans to bring Disney’s entire back-catalog of animated classics to the iTunes Store.
Having fulfilled this familial obligation, Jason Snell, Rob Griffiths, and I gather to discuss what we will, may, and likely won’t see at next week’s Expo.

Visiting San Francisco for the first time? The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce’s Tourist Information page is a great place to learn about your new home. If you’re looking for a place to eat, last year the staff of Macworld compiled a guide to eating near Moscone Center, which you can download onto your iPod.
Whether you’re attending Expo for the first time or you’re a seasoned vet, you’ll find helpful information about everything taking place at Expo on the Macworld Conference & Expo site.
Looking for ways to learn more about the Mac during Expo week? Visit San Francisco’s Apple Store where a variety of extra special events take place.
We refer to Rob Griffiths’ Reading Between Apple’s Lines a few time during our talk about next week’s events. If you haven’t read it, now’s the time.
