This week’s roundup of new iOS gear includes headphones that include a high-def camera for sending live video to your iPhone or iPad for immediate editing and distribution.
The $40 Xtream S1 is a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, designed to let you lounge by the pool, stream your tunes, and never worry about your electronics getting wet. It features a microphone for hands-free calls, and it comes in five different bright colors.
The $50 iBlazr is a “fully synchronized flash” for use with the camera on your iOS device. Says the company, “The flash is constructed to include four hi-end LEDs that provide an uncompromising amount of light for such a small size.” Basically, it’s a better flash than the the light in your iPhone; it plugs into your device’s headphone jack.
The $80 Hub It is “capable of syncing and charging up to seven different iOS devices simultaneously with a 2.5A powerful output per port and at a speed of up to 5 GBps,” says Eggtronic. It should be perfect for the large family or small office.
The $100 DJ Controller “allows you to pre-cue your music and beat-mix with the added benefits of volume control and separate dual stereo outputs,” says Griffin. You’ll need the Djay 2 iOS app to make it work; after that, you’ll sound like a professional DJ.
This company is launching its Konnect series of external batteries, including the the $80 Konnect Kolor (pictured), a 12,000-mAh external battery; the $50 Konnect Two, a 9,000-mAh battery; and the $50 Konnect Plug, a 6,600-mAh external battery.
The $150 Misfit is a sleep-tracking device that rests on your mattress, under the sheets, and transmits data on your sleep cycles and quality — including heart rate, respiration, movement, snoring, and sound — to your iPhone. There, the Misfit app can tell you how much and how well you’re sleeping, and help you set goals to do better.
The $349 Soundsight headphones are described as a mashup of Beats, Instagram, and GoPro technologies. The headphones include a high-definition video camera that lets you send video to your iOS device, where you can record, edit, and add audio and effects. You can even allow other users to join your live video stream.
The $60 Tablift is an iPad stand that lets you recline — on the couch, in bed, wherever — while using your tablet. It has adjustable legs to allow a proper fit no matter where you sit.
