Last month’s WSJD Live conference in tony Laguna Beach, CA, was a hot ticket. You could take a drone selfie with Rupert Murdoch, maybe troll an Apple exec with AirDrop, and of course listen to fascinating talks and interviews with some of the biggest names in technology, including Apple CEO Tim Cook.
I wasn’t there, and chances you weren’t there either, but until we can finally weasel our way in, at least there is finally video. The Wall Street Journal posted the entire 34-minute video of Tim Cook’s Q&A with WSJ editor-in-chief Gerard Baker.
In it, he discusses Apple Pay (“We’re not just No. 1 [in contactless payments], but we’re more than the total of all the other guys—and we’ve only been at it a week!”), the Apple Watch (“I think the Watch is profound”), the possibility of an innovative TV product (“I think what HBO is doing is very smart—I think they’re thinking about the consumer”), and his strategic direction for the next few years and “the long arc of time,” one of Cook’s favorite phrases.
Watch the video here, and let us know what you think? Will the Apple Watch make equally big splashes in the health and fitness space as well as the fashion world?
