Update: As of 5:15 p.m. EST, it appears all services have been restored. Let us know if you’re still having trouble logging in to the iOS and Mac App Stores, iTunes, or any other Apple stores.
Apple services are having major issues this morning.
It started with iCloud. Users were unable to sign in to their iCloud mail accounts, then all of iCloud went down in an outage that lasted from just before 5 a.m. Eastern to around 9 a.m. Now iCloud is back up, but customers can’t make purchases in iTunes, the iOS and Mac App Stores, and the iBooks Store. iTunes Connect is also on the fritz.
Basically, if a service requires an Apple login, you might have trouble accessing it this morning. The problems aren’t just affecting U.S. Apple users— The Next Web noted that the outages appear to be worldwide.
Update 10:38 a.m. Pacific: Apple has acknowledged and apologized for the outage, delivering a statement to CNBC.
BREAKING: Apple apologizes to users for outage that took down iTunes & other services.
