This week’s roundup includes a new accessory from Apple — an iPhone dock good to fit any Lightning-equipped phone, including the iPhone 6 generation.
We usually devote this space to third-party accessories, but hey! Apple made an accessory! In this case, it’s a $39 iPhone Lightning Dock equipped to handle any generation of Lightning-equipped iPhone. (A previous generation was built with a groove for just the iPhone 5 generation.) The new design makes it easy to dock an iPhone that has a case, and is useful for making hands-free speaker calls.
The $45 MaxStone camera remote “uses Bluetooth 4.0 and infrared technology to realize the connection between your iPhone and the cameras. MaxStone offers a completely wireless solution to control your camera through MaxStone App on your iPhone.”
The $25 Bobine Watch is billed as the “world’s most flexible Apple Watch dock,” and there’s no arguing here. The 24-inch flexible stand can sit on your nightstand or desk, or plug into the dash if you need to view your phone while you’re on the road.
The $50 Clip+ is “ultra-light, ultra-rugged and ultra-powerful” Bluetooth speaker built especially for summertime use. It provides five hours of wireless music playback—it can also be used for speaker calls—and the namesake carabiner lets you clip it to your backpack or other gear for toting along.
The $40 360 Tablet Kickstand suctions onto the back of your iPad, making it easy to attach, detach, and use again without leaving any sticky residue behind. The hinge lets you view the screen at a variety different angles; a built-in swivel lets you move easily between portrait and landscape modes.
Can’t afford the gold version of the Apple Watch? Who cares? The $97 MidasTouch kit lets you brush your steel Apple Watch with 24K gold plating. “Roll like a mega rich baller with your gold plated watch,” the developers say. Roll like a mega rich baller, indeed.
The $100 Active Lens offers two lens options—ultra-wide, for panoramic views, and telephoto, to get closer to long-distance action. Its lightweight design works with both front- and rear-facing cameras.
The $20 Samdi Wooden Cradle is built for both versions of the iPhone 6, and in black, silver, or grey colors to be compatible with your phone. The hand-made docks may contain knotty wood or natural smudges—but that just adds character, right?
