It’s the dog days of summer, the time when Google makes all the news, by making itself a subsidiary of…itself. So that’s an interesting discussion, and this episode also contains lots of follow-up and a delicious selection of new business, as we ramp up to September, when Apple will release new hardware and software.
So Glenn updates us on the malware situation, and how much worse our Android-using friends have it. Any day we can laugh at CurrentC is a good day, and now it seems the Apple Pay competitor is nearing the end of its exclusivity agreement with retailers like Rite Aid—before CurrentC even managed to launch its product. Wi-Fi Calling and Wi-Fi Assist are coming with iOS 9, Verizon is changing up the way it sells new phones and service, and the new iPad mini sounds pretty predictable but will be welcome nonetheless.
