With iOS 9, Apple replaced Newsstand with the new News app. It puts all your news reading in one convenient place. If you want to learn more about News before you dive into the app, you can read our hands-on with News.
You can use News to read articles from your favorite websites, including Macworld. If you’re getting started with News, here’s how to add Macworld to the News app. (Of course, you’re always welcome to continue visiting Macworld.com through Safari.)
- If you’re using News for the first time, you’ll see the screen below after the welcome screen. (If you’ve already done the initial News setup, skip to step 3.) You won’t find Macworld on this screen, but you need to pick one of these publications to continue. You can remove it later.
- After you tap Continue, you’ll be asked if you want to get news articles emailed to you. If you do, tap Sign Me Up.
- After the email setting, News takes to your news feed, which News calls For You. You’ll see a list of articles from the publications you selected. To add Macworld, you have to find it first. Tap Search and enter Macworld in the search field at the top of the screen.
- After you’re done typing, Macworld may show up as a Top Hit. Tap the + icon and Macworld will be added to your news feed. The + icon will change to a √ icon.
- Tap Done. Now, Macworld articles will appear in your feed. If you tap Favorites, you should see an icon for Macworld. If you tap it, you’ll see only Macworld articles.
There you have it. You can add other publications to News using the same steps.
