Do some apps on your iPhone 6s look as if they’re zoomed in? You’re not alone. MacRumors reported late last week that some iPhone 6s users who upgraded from an iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c report that certain apps on their phones look as if they’ve been zoomed in.
The bug gets triggered when you restore an iPhone 6s from a backup of an iPhone 5, 5s, or 5c. As a result, the edges of onscreen content appear to get clipped in a number of bundled apps, including Weather, Wallet, Watch, Calculator, and Health. (We’re assuming the fact that this bug affects all the “W” apps is a mere coincidence.)
The bug apparently persists between restarts, but users on Apple’s support discussion board say that you can work around this issue by going to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom and toggling on the Zoom feature. Turning this on will cause the affected apps to display normally, but it will cause everything other app to display zoomed in.
The other option, MacRumors notes, is to set up your phone as a new device and manually set up our phone the way you want it.
The good news is that a fix appears to be on the way. MacRumors says that, according to beta testers, iOS 9.1. Beta 3 does not seem to be affected by this problem. So it you’ve been bitten by this screen-zoom issue, you hopefully won’t have to endure it much longer.
