It’s been a busy week for Apple, so that means a busy episode of the Macworld Podcast, in which we tackle the major software updates streaming out of Cupertino this week.
Specifically, Apple released Aperture 2, a new version of its digital photo workflow application. Aperture 2 came out a day after Apple released a Leopard update—Mac OS X 10.5.2. And to complete the software hat trick, Apple delivered its promised Apple TV software update, which gives you the ability to rent movies and buy music and TV shows from the iTunes Store directly from the Apple TV.
Macworld contributor Ben Long joins me to talk about the finer points of Aperture 2. Then senior editor Rob Griffiths stops by to go over the OS X 10.5.2 update. By the time we get to Apple TV, I’m left to talk to myself.

Show notes
Senior news editor Peter Cohen weighed in on the Aperture 2 update in this Editors’ Notes blog entry. In that same blog, senior editor Dan Frakes looks at how the changes in OS X 10.5.2 show that Apple listens to user feedback. Dan specifically points to criticisms of Leopard’s Stacks feature and how it’s changed in 10.5.2.
As for Apple TV, be sure to check out my latest hands on which follows up on my preview of the software update from last month.
