Mobius Final Fantasy (freemium) is a turn-based role-playing game, one the makers say features a battle system “specifically designed for mobile devices.” The story outline is vague—though your character is apparently destined to become a “warrior of legend”—and will be unveiled over time, in new chapters that feature new new “playable content” and add character customization options. In other words: This game is going to grow and evolve.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ($4) isn’t just another movie-based video game. It’s filled with STEM concepts to help your child learn problem-solving techniques and skills that will serve them well in the classroom and the real world. Cowabunga!

Train Kit ($3) lets your child “add and move track tiles by dragging them with your finger while trains run around you.” There are no rules, the makers say, but endless options.
